We, TGJP, strongly condemn the attacks on Iran carried out by the United States and Israel.
At present, narratives are circulating on social media and elsewhere that frame these attacks positively, claiming they represent the “liberation” of oppressed women and LGBTQ+ people within Iran. It is true that the lives and dignity of women and LGBTQ+ people in Iran are under serious threat. There are voices calling for regime change in the hope of improving the level of human rights protections, and some activists have fled to other countries as refugees.
However, these realities do not justify the attacks on Iran carried out by the United States and Israel for the purpose of regime change. This is not a transformation driven by the internal voices of people within Iran, but a change imposed through external force, and therefore a violation of the United Nations Charter. Already, more than 200 civilians have been killed in these attacks. Among them are women and LGBTQ+ people. Moreover, the war itself is placing the lives of women and LGBTQ+ people in Iran in grave danger.
Israel has also instrumentalized LGBTQ+ rights to justify its attacks during the assault on the Gaza Strip in Palestine. Once again, we strongly assert: “No Pride in Genocide” and “No Pride in War.”
We oppose violence and war, and we stand in solidarity with voices around the world calling for dignity, diversity, and peace.
私たちTGJPは、アメリカとイスラエルによるイラン攻撃を強く非難します。
いま、この攻撃はイラン国内で抑圧された女性やLGBTQ+の解放であるという、攻撃を肯定的に捉える言説がSNSを中心に流されています。確かに、イラン国内において女性やLGBTQ+の生命や尊厳が脅かされているのは事実です。人権保障の水準向上ために体制転換を望む声もありますし、難民として他国に逃れるアクティビストたちもいます。
しかし、このことがアメリカとイスラエルが仕掛けたレジーム・チェンジを目的とするイラン攻撃を正当化する理由にはなりません。イラン国内の内発的な声による体制転換ではないからです。外部からの力による現状変更であり、国連憲章違反だからです。この度の攻撃ですでに200名以上の民間人が犠牲になっています。この中には女性やLGBTQ+の当事者たちも含まれています。また、戦禍によってイランに生きる女性やLGBTQ+たちの生命が危うい状態に追い込まれています。
イスラエルはパレスチナ・ガザ地区攻撃の際にも、LGBTQ+を攻撃の正当化に利用しました。いまいちど「NoPrideinGenoside」「NoPrideinWar」を強く主張します。
私たちは、暴力や戦争に反対し、尊厳と多様性、平和を求める世界の声と連帯します。
